The Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FLENUMMETOCCEN) has awarded Spry Methods a task order award to assist FLENUMMETOCCEN staff to upgrade some of the existing FLENUMMETOCCEN Scientific Local Area Network (FSL) Windows systems. FLENUMMETOCCEN is the Department of Defense’s (DoD) principal operational processing center for automated numerical meteorological and oceanographic (METOC) analyses and predictions. Located in Monterey, California, FLENUMMETOCCEN provides around-the-clock operational oceanographic and meteorological support to the US Navy, other US Government agencies, and elements of the armed forces of allied nations.
“Spry Methods is gratified to have been selected to support the upgrade of FLENUMMETOCCEN systems from Windows systems to Windows 7. FLENUMMETOCCEN systems must be kept in a state of IA compliance as compromised, corrupt or service-denied Windows systems will slow or cease warfighter reach back support and we are proud to do our part in supporting the warfighter whatever the role”, said Mark Gadomski, senior vice president for Spry Methods C5I operations. Under this contract, Spry will provide support to plan, integrate, test, and deploy Windows 7 systems, with existing FSL network capabilities, and with IA systems, including Host-Based Security Systems (HBSS). This support will include application of IA configurations and patches and assistance with documenting systems and configurations for unclassified LAN and Secret LAN Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages.
