John “Jack” Hess will provide strategic leadership as company eyes growth opportunities within the National Security and Law Enforcement communities.
Spry Methods, Inc. (Spry) is pleased to announce that John “Jack” Hess has been appointed as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Hess was most recently Vice President and General Manager specializing in enterprise Information technology, development, sustainment, and modernization, as well as analytical operations for Jacobs. Hess managed $200M in revenue and over 850 employees and subcontractors.
Hess will join Spry’s executive leadership team to support Co-CEOs Ed Kim and Ted Ahn in executing the company’s strategy and vision while leveraging his experience growing companies both organically and through partnerships. “Jack is uniquely qualified to continue Spry’s robust organic expansion by identifying strategic partners to expand our end-to-end capabilities and successfully integrating them into the organization to better meet customer mission requirements,” said Kim. “Jack’s proven track record of finding and attracting industry top talent will be crucial to our company’s further success in the national security market, continued support of our DoD, Intelligence, Federal Civilian communities, and prized standing as one of the most sought-after workplaces in the industry,” said Ahn.

Hess is an executive leader with over 30 years of experience managing across multi-agency business units. He has a track record of wining business and building successful teams across functional areas. Over his career, Hess has received extensive investigative, tactical and management training and has received numerous managerial awards. Prior to joining Spry, Hess was the Vice President and General Manager at Jacobs Engineering Corp. leading the Homeland & Justice Performing Unit. Hess retired from civil service as senior executive service (SES) in 2009 from the FBI.
