Spry Family Volunteers at The Children’s Inn at NIH

At Spry, we believe in doing good work – not just by serving our customers, but by serving our local communities as well working hand-in-hand to make a positive impact. On April 22nd, the Spry team volunteered again at The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to prepare and serve a “Family Brunch” meal. The Children’s Inn at NIH is a residential “Place Like Home’’ for families with children participating in leading-edge research studies at NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. The NIH Clinical Center is the nation’s premier biomedical research hospital, providing an opportunity for our residents to be partners in advancing medical discoveries and improving the health of people all over the world. While the NIH takes care of the child’s medical needs, The Inn tends to the child’s heart, soul and spirit.

The Children’s Inn at NIH is a place for families that are undergoing serious medical treatment and it helps provide a much-needed hospitality house for children and their families during their stay at NIH. Since opening in 1990, nearly 12,000 children have come from all 50 states and 86 countries to stay together with their families–for free–in The Inn’s supportive environment.

Spry was very grateful for the opportunity to support our friends at The Children’s Inn again with a family brunch meal. It was truly our pleasure and we look forward to volunteering with The Inn again! To view photos from this volunteering event, please visit our Facebook page.
