Spry Awarded Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center MSR System Administration Task Order

The Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FLENUMMETOCCEN) has awarded Spry Methods a task order award for METOC Space Readiness (MSR) System Administration. FLENUMMETOCCEN is the Department of Defense’s (DOD) principal operational processing center for automated numerical meteorological and oceanographic (METOC) analyses and predictions.  Operating a sophisticated suite of numerical environmental models and customer product applications that exploit all levels of High Performance Computing (HPC), theNavalMeteorology and Oceanography Command (NMOC) has a requirement to receive a wide range of data from the National Polar-Orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) Preparatory Project (NPP) satellite and provide data services to Navy METOC models and applications. Spry has been contracted to perform technical engineering, system administration, system optimization, and implementation efforts needed to utilize NPP and other weather satellite data and will support the operations and maintenance of MSR systems at FLENUMMETOCCEN and shall include operational testing, validation, and documentation necessary for transition to operations.
