The Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FLENUMMETOCCEN) has awarded Spry Methods a task order award for Web Operations Programming Support. FLENUMMETOCCEN’s mission supports active, on-going warfighting missions by providing 24/7/365 support to Naval, Joint, and Coalition operations. As part of larger Navy and DoD efforts to make information available to warfighters through Web systems, FLENUMMETOCCEN is engaged in several projects that support forward-deployed warfighters and safety of operations. These projects will integrate specific requirements-based Web capabilities. Under this contract, Spry will maintain and increase the availability, security, and interoperability of web services infrastructure technologies and recode the software of existing integrated Web applications for deployment in FLENUMMETOCCEN / enterprise operational environments, as well as maintain and enhance METOC capabilities and accelerate the transition of mechanisms to deliver time-critical weather data to warfighters. “FLENUMMETOCCEN efforts in this area result in the availability of warfighter-relevant data and Web services through existing integrated Navy operational capabilities accessible in active theaters.
